Our Vision

Vision

Better Health, Healthcare, and Healthcare Value for residents of Frontier and Rural areas through the development and translation of knowledge and understandings that are generalizable to other regions and populations by way of a network of residents; patients; community-based organizations; personal and private healthcare providers; educational and research organization; policy-makers; and other interested organizations and individuals.

Mission

To develop and translate knowledge and understandings that will improve the health, healthcare, value of healthcare for citizens in Frontier and Rural areas of the United States, and that is generalizable to other regions and populations.

Goals

1. Lead and facilitate efforts to develop and translate knowledge and understandings of issues related to health outcomes, the healthcare system, and the value of healthcare.

2. Develop a learning climate within A-OPTIC Member organizations where scholarly inquiry to improve health, healthcare, and healthcare value in their communities is valued, encouraged, and supported.

3. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships among Members, OPTI and PBRN, for the purpose of “cross-pollinating”, investigating, and evaluating solutions for better health, healthcare, and healthcare value.

4. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with public health providers for the purpose of improving the health of citizens in Frontier and Rural areas.

5. Develop and maintain resources and implement processes necessary for the collection and processing of data related to the investigation and evaluation of health and healthcare solutions.

6. Develop, implement, and sustain administrative processes and policies necessary for the effective investigation and evaluation of health and healthcare solutions.

7. Develop and maintain as current an agenda for inquiry based on the health and healthcare needs of Frontier and Rural residents, that includes input from the residents on a level commensurate with other involved persons or organizations.

8. Develop processes and relationships to ensure the long-term viability of the PBRN.

9. Develop, implement, and maintain an educational program that will train medical personnel and other participants to investigate and evaluate health and healthcare solutions.
